Seeking the Shade

Inspired by the lovely deer itself as spotted within the forest while driving past while in Epping (Essex, UK). It was alive and well within its forest home.  Yet the trophy often seen mounted on a wall hints at death.  Instead of that I wanted it to hint at life by conjuring up a time of the day in which the deer existed and reflect that onto the surface.  With this piece it is a hot summer afternoon and the use of colours reflect both heat and cool with the antlers in red indicating heat.  The deer is seeking shade among the trees.

This sculpture is ready for mounting on a wall and has been rendered in textured acrylic paint and finished in resin for strength and protection.   It is signed on the reverse of the mount.
