Orange Pear

This work was inspired by the organic shape of the familiar pear and the wish to explore colour and shape.   In choosing the colour I wanted, it was then a work of exploring an organic shape against a background that would be  contrast to it.  I set myself a limited palette and the wish to integrate opposite shapes to  reveal an integrated image.   I am interested in looking at the familiar in an unfamiliar way as though to make it a fresh viewpoint.

Acrylic paints have been rendered in layers.   . The sides are painted also and it could be hung without a hanging device, if wanted.   Signature is on the reverse.
